Niraparib, first marketed in the U.S. in April under the brand name ZEJULA(TM), has quickly become the most frequently pre- scribed PARP inhibitor in the U.S. Under the terms of this agree- ment, TESARO will receive a $100 million upfront payment and is eligible to receive additional milestone payments of up to $240 million related to the achievement of certain regulatory and commer- cial goals. TESARO will also be eligible to receive from Takeda tiered royalties based on a dou- ble-digit percentage of net prod- uct sales. TESARO’s de- velopment plan currently includes clinical trials of niraparib in pa- tients with ovarian, breast, and lung cancer.
