Australian CEO Excellence Awards 2026 | 12 Critical Infrastructure Technologies (CiTech) delivers solutions in the form of high-capacity, rapidly deployable communications technology providing essential services to the areas where they are needed most. This includes the resources, emergency services, and defence sectors, all of which the company serves with the latest products. For more on both these solutions and Brenton Scott, CiTech’s award-winning CEO, we take a closer look at the company below. As industries, governments, the military, and society as a whole all become more dependent on communications and power systems to offer critical services and protect lives, companies specialising in supporting infrastructure like rapidly deployable radio towers have become critical enablers for all. Despite this necessity, the mobile/rapidly deployable sector has fallen behind compared to the major advancements in fixed infrastructure, and this has effectively constrained the capability of the systems and their people. Doing its bit to close this gap, CiTech in Western Australia is designing and manufacturing a range of high-capacity mobile antenna tower platforms that can support a variety of technology payloads and allow organisations to fully harness the power of these modern technologies. A fitting example of this is the aforementioned Nexus 16, an innovative and versatile radio communications tower that can be rapidly deployed to remote locations for the critical sectors that the company serves. Fitting within the confines of an average 20-foot shipping container, the Nexus 16 is home to a walk-in equipment room, battery reserves, solar arrays, and generators, creating a fully selfcontained communications solution. The Nexus 16 is also able to be transported via any truck that can accommodate a 20-foot container, meaning it offers exceptional adaptability. It then loads and unloads itself at the push of a button, adapting to uneven or sloping terrain and offering a feather-light touch due to its low ground impact. The robust, cyclone-rated 16m radio tower at the heart of this solution can be deployed in 30 minutes, contributing to the unparalleled efficiency and utility this solution stands for. All of these features make the Nexus 16 incredibly useful in settings such as mine operations, where it can be utilised to provide communication networks in remote locations; for emergency services, where quickly establishing reliable communication is critical; and defence, where it can be quickly deployed in response to an emerging threat. Far from the only pioneering product CiTech has introduced to the market, the full range of solutions the company offers includes the Nexus 20 – which builds on everything that makes the Nexus 16 great but adds more height, faster deployment, and enhanced power systems – and the CiNet support network, which was built to support the Nexus range and offer seamless integration across network management systems. All of these solutions can be accredited to the experienced team behind CiTech, with these experts in management and production playing a pivotal role in continuing to develop and revolutionise mobile radio tower technology. The man at the helm is Brenton Scott, the co-founder of CiTech and its CEO. Brenton provides his extensive experience in equity markets, capital raising, and public company accounting and auditing. His career encompasses more than 30 years in the accounting, childcare, financial services, technology, and marine industries, making him wildly experienced in many facets of Australia’s corporate landscape. Brenton also graduated Curtin University and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia. All of this knowledge makes Brenton the perfect person to spearhead a team of digital revolutionaries. Many of the specialist engineers comprising the CiTech team have worked together for almost a decade, developing robust communications for products relating to mining, defence, emergency services, telecommunications, and more. The diverse nature of the team also sees all major engineering disciplines covered, including mechanical, electrical, embedded firmware, telemetry, communications, climate control, manufacturing, network management systems, and cybersecurity, thus highlighting their versatility. Ultimately, from its location in South Fremantle, where it is sandwiched between the head offices of the world’s largest resources companies and Perth’s heavy industry hub, CiTech’s operation is supported by a 3,000 m2 factory with R&D labs and testing and production facilities, and even more so by a team of unequalled specialists led by Brenton Scott. As a result of the synergy that exists between its people and its solutions, Critical Infrastructure Technologies has established itself as a true industry leader. Brenton Scott has played a major part in this success over the last five years, and we are delighted to reflect that with two awards in this programme.
