Australian Enterprise Awards 2026 | 49 AIM-Dec25007 Hair loss at any age, whether through injury or illness, can have devastating effects on quality of life and confidence levels. Sharryn Sinclair, stands out within the wig retail industry not only for her sensitive and empathetic approach to this life-altering condition, but also through her innovative concepts to find the very best solutions for each and every hair piece wearer. We find out more from Sharryn as her firm gains recognition in the Australian Enterprise Awards 2026. Based in Perth, the Petite Wig Company specialises in providing an extensive range of wigs designed for smaller, or misshapen, heads. The Founder and Lead Wig Developer, Sharryn Sinclair, has dedicated her entire career to working in the hair industry providing wig and hair piece options to some of the greats in film making, TV and other creative fields. It was Sharryn, who is also the Managing Director of the Perth Wig Showroom, who initially recognised that there was very limited availability of petite sized wigs on the market. “Our research has found that 90% of clients visiting the Perth Wig Showroom required a petite sized cap,” Sharryn explains. “Further investigation soon discovered that what is deemed the industry average size, isn’t actually average worldwide, rather it is more applicable to USA and African head sizes. “Here in Australia, in the UK, New Zealand and European countries, a majority of wearers have a smaller head size requiring a petite or petite-average sized cap.” The Petite Wig Company was established and today offers a wide selection of petite sized comfortable to wear wigs in Techno Fibre and human hair options, with Techno Fibre being a popular alternative as it is close to human hair as a synthetic fibre can be, plus it has the ability to withstand heat of up to 150° and can be curled or straightened as desired. Whilst this is a huge selling point for The Petite Wig Company, the firm’s reputation does not simply hang on its unique product range, but also on its exceptional customer experience. “We aim to provide every client with a personalised service,” elaborates Sharryn. “This ensures they receive the right piece for the desired end result.” It is essential, working with sensitive conditions such as hair loss, that staff are empathetic and clients are made to feel comfortable and cared for. This is something that Sharryn enforces through the firm’s company culture, operating an open-door policy where members of the team are free to openly discuss any issues or challenges they may be facing. “We invite like-minded people into our tribe,” she says. “Individuals who really like to help others - this is the key to how we hire and maintain the team.” With ever-changing trends and hairstyles out there, the industry is fast-moving and evolves at quite a pace. Sharryn tells us that she always aims to stock the latest fashions and keep on top of what is current within the industry. Right now, Italian bobs are big, however all wigs available through the company are designed to suit the Australian lifestyle and climate, with a cool cap structure ensuring maximum comfort for the wearer. It is Sharryn’s vision and ability to come up with wig and hair piece solutions that has propelled the brand to where it is today, and she instills inspiration in the team around her by constantly finding new ideas and concepts. Currently, Sharryn is working on developing silicone moulds for post-surgery severe scarring on scalps, designed to work alongside the Hairy Patch system. Recently, in recognition of Sharryn and the team’s dedication to the hair loss industry, the firm received the prestigious title of Most Innovative Hair Loss Solutions Brand 2026, as we as being bestowed with the APAC Insider Hair Loss Product Design Excellence Award 2026, in the Australian Enterprise Awards 2026. Moving forward, Sharryn’s goal is to continue to research and develop improved methods for addressing hair loss solutions, with her mission being to help as many people as she can who are suffering hair loss and looking to regain their confidence through a suitable hair loss solution.
