The expert guidance possessed by Humansa’s team takes clients on a journey of healthspan baselining, preventative healthcare treatment, and recovery, the end goal being to help them live a healthier, more fulfilling life. This can be seen across Humansa’s revolutionary Future Health Program, which embodies this proactive, forward-looking approach to health. By focusing on detecting any issues early and intervening straight away, this programme prides itself on identifying the indicators of the “Four Horsemen” diseases: heart disease, cancer, Alzheimer’s, and metabolic conditions. Not only are these four diseases the leading causes of death worldwide, but they also have a considerable impact on the biological and metabolic age of a person. To help tackle these conditions, Humansa’s robust assessments are divided into five primary categories spanning physical function, cardiometabolic function, cognitive function, mental well-being, and nutritional wellbeing function. Each of these areas entail the team providing ongoing monitoring, sciencebacked recommendations, and specialist advice. Beyond this, Humansa is continuing to cement its standing in Hong Kong’s business landscape, partnering with AIA to offer its medical services at the new AIA Wellness Haven. Through this partnership, these two businesses have introduced the first one-stop, fully integrated health and wellness space in the insurance industry, catering effectively to AIA Hong Kong’s high-net-worth customers’ desire for maximising their health and well-being by affording them customised solutions that are all focused on health preservation. Far from the only example of Humansa working with an industry-leading company, the business’ professional services are consistently sought out by Fortune 500 companies, all of which prize the bespoke health management solutions that Humansa provides to both their employees and their customers. The ongoing health and wellness partner for more than 50 multinational companies at this very moment, Humansa’s portfolio consists of many of the company’s ranked in the world’s top 100. Furthermore, by collaborating closely with the well-known organisations, such as the Swiss Institute of Longevity, the Humansa International Advisory Board (HIAB) was established earlier this year, done so as to provide the company with a wealth of international and professional scientific opinions and advice so that it may continue to exceed international standards. Through the implementation of HIAB, Humansa can further extend not only the lifespans but healthspans of its clientele, with the company making the most of bringing together some of the best and brightest minds in this field to focus on the future of health and wellbeing in Asian societies. Following on from this, as well as the fact that the Humansa Future Health Program went live earlier this year, the company has been on the receiving end of industry acclaim in recent months, recognised with the likes of an award from Forbes China concerning innovation and being named as an Outstanding Health and Wellness Lifestyle Brand at the most recent Health Partnership Awards. A company thriving on the cutting-edge of health and wellness, Humansa stands as a beacon of scientific excellence and helps its clients to manage their health and well-being proactively. APAC Insider- Hong Kong Business Awards 2024 | 6 AI Digital Group is helping to build smarter cities and a greener future for all through its bespoke ESG and sustainable technology solutions. Working with such prestigious clients as Hong Kong’s Environmental Protection Department (EPD), leading universities across the country, as well as the Hospital Authority, AI Digital Group is immensely proud to be a total green solutions provider, sourcing from the best global vendors to offer bespoke hardware, software, and AI-driven devices. Best ESG & Sustainability Solution Provider 2024 Channelling the limitless power of sustainable innovation and cutting-edge technology to shape cities into smart and yet green, eco-friendly environments, AI Digital Group operates atop more than two decades of distinction within the IT industry, which it excelled in prior to deciding to alter its course and take advantage of AI’s increasingly game-changing abilities. Helping others to harness this technology and similar groundbreaking tools for the good of society, AI Digital Group today stands in a league of its own. Before diving into the specifics of some of the company’s technologies and projects, it is important to reinforce that this entire operation is anchored to a sustainable commitment and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors, both of which have become crucial elements in the decision-making process for businesses across the world. In a landscape where sustainability is prized almost above all else, companies are having to accelerate their ESG strategies so as to mitigate their impact on the planet and its people. There to assist them every step of the way, AI Digital Group allows the strength of its projects to speak for themselves, such as its recent undertaking concerning the world’s first AIbased reusable lending and returning system for plastic containers. Across this project, funded by the Hong Kong Jockey Club’s Jockey Club Sustainable Consumer Programme (JCSCCP), the team worked with eight universities to build the machine, which graced the halls of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology’s Clear Water Bay campus before being rolled out to the other seven members of Hong Kong’s Sustainable Campus Consortium. Using AI object recognition software, built-in cameras, and QR code authentication, these machines allow for products to be taken out and returned 24/7, with students using their Octopus Cards (a reusable contactless card popular across Hong Kong) to return the HK$20 deposit that they pay to borrow these containers. Perhaps best of all for students, since these containers are all professionally cleaned and sterilised by an external company before going back into the machine, they do not need to be washed before being returned. Another defining example of the company’s excellence was its help creating a robust line of smart recycling systems, something it did in partnership with the aforementioned EPD. Across this line of recycling smart bins, food waste smart bins, and other such technologies, AI Digital Group assisted in the pioneering of GREEN$, a loyalty programme comprised of a smartphone app and a reward card that allows the public to earn digital currency when they recycle using these devices. These points can then be redeemed against the likes of groceries. Following on from the introduction of this rewards scheme, as well as the creation of an eco-recycling society, GREEN@Community, the number of people using these systems grew to approximately 500,000 in the two-and-a-half years since their release. This programme continues to be a resounding success, and there is currently 11 recycling stations, more than 77 recycling stores, and in excess of 130 recycling spots in operation, making a measurable difference in the country’s recycling efforts. An offshoot of this project saw AI Digital group serve as the major supplier of these food waste and recycling smart bins in a pilot scheme running across private housing estates. In short, this scheme provided eligible estates with these bins, as well as all installation and maintenance services, for a complimentary twoyear period. Running through to December 2025, this is just the first step in the company’s expansion of its solutions to similar estates right across Hong Kong. Finally, as for the upcoming projects that AI Digital Group is set to work on in the near future, a spokesperson for the company shares with us that the company’s network is set to expand to include Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital, a member of the Hospital Authority, which has already begun to use the company’s digital recycling and IoT systems, as well as its big data platform. Whilst all this is simply the tip of the iceberg, it gives a solid overview as to why we have chosen to recognise AI Digital Group as the Best ESG & Sustainability Solution Provider 2024. Lucky to work alongside leading food experts and connoisseurs alike, the company has managed to source products that transcend the typical expectations of the market – be they natural mineral water, healthy snacks, or whiskies, Infood Asia unites the region’s most elite food and beverage brands, all under one umbrella, to offer a selection that’s guaranteed to impress. Below, we take a closer look at the brands Infood Asia has under its wing, and how, together, they’re able to continuously impress the industry. Led by an experienced team of experts who, in tandem with their experience with the worldwide food and beverage industry, have managed to redefine excellence across the Southeast Asia region, Infood Asia is an entity that has become a onestop solution for many companies’ needs. Priding itself on its ability to access and distribute superiortasting food and beverages that each represent the pinnacle of their branding, the company combines consumer insights and strategic solutions to deliver top-notch, high-quality foods and beverages at a competitive price. Empowered by its talented team, Infood Asia represents a shift toward a more quality-centric industry – a shift that’s made possible through the myriad of partnerships it’s fostered over the years. In the beginning, Infood Asia also founded the highly regarded natural mineral water brand – HinoAso. Recognised across Japan – most notably by Monde Selection and the International Taste Institute – HinoAso was Infood Asia’s very first endeavour. It reflected the company’s resolute commitment to quality from the very beginning, and, to this day, remains a cornerstone of the wider collective’s mission. Though Infood Asia has advanced since then, it still retains the attitude it set out with, allowing it to continuously create and develop more relationships with a wider portfolio of partners. From this point, Infood Asia began to extend its range, and it’s here that it formed Yumiyo. Famous for its range of cookies and crackers, the brand played an integral role in Infood Asia’s growth within the snack foods market. In doing so, this umbrella group was able to introduce the market to healthy snacks that not only boasted beneficial properties, but also balanced quality and flavour in seamless harmony. And yet, there was one more avenue down which Infood Asia hoped to venture, with this thirst for further growth finally quenched when it pivoted its focus toward the Kyutou and Shinzaki brands. Also recognised by Monde Selection and the International Taste Institute, these brands’ whisky products have become something of a standout within the market. As such, Infood Asia was eager to pursue a meaningful collaboration with the companies, and it now proudly accompanies its partners in their ventures toward further excellence. Combined with Infood Asia’s affinity for working alongside skilled Japanese breweries – ones such as Zuiyo Co., Ltd, Shinozaki Co., Ltd., and Rikyu Kura Co., Ltd. – the collective has capably strengthened its global presence to an outstanding degree. APAC Insider has always been surveying the landscape in search of those who have transcended their industry’s expectations to bring something new to the market. Infood Asia is one such entity – a collective whose love for presenting prestigious food and beverages to the wider trade has cultivated a sense of unapologetic excellence. It takes great pride in what it does – be it the collaborations it’s cultivated, or the products it sources – and this pride is a driving characteristic that is sure to encourage exceptional growth in the future. Until then, we extend our congratulations to Infood Asia for championing the region’s food and beverage market. Jan22686 Feb22538 APAC Insider- Hong Kong Business Awards 2024 | 8 Children who experience learning difficulties, ADHD and autism spectrum disorder face several lifelong risks if they don’t receive the attention and assistance they need early on. They may face alienation and difficulty adjusting to the world around them, disrupting their lives and those of their families. The Children’s Institute of Hong Kong serves to not only support and empower these children and their families, but also to educate and support the local community by eradicating stereotypes, promoting awareness and encouraging inclusion. The Children’s Institute of Hong Kong is a non-profit organisation which has served the Hong Kong community for over 20 years. Its multidisciplinary approach provides services for early learners who experience learning challenges through young adults who are finding it challenging to find gainful employment. The team is familiar with a variety of complex challenges like autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, and developmental delays, and it comprises an expansive range of professionals. This includes clinical psychologists, board certified behaviour analyst, speech pathologists, occupational therapistsm special education teachers, speech therapists, and more, all of whom have been sought out to compensate for areas of lacking support, culminating in truly all-encompassing service. These multidisciplinary teams tailor programmes to suit each individual child’s needs, with the earliest learners aged 2 and the oldest, 22. This enables a holistic approach, providing therapies informed by collaboration and diversified expertise. Individualised support is offered to families and students, instilling a nurturing framework for children to thrive and mitigate developmental, social, and educational challenges. The organisation’s support spans a suite of programmes aimed at varying age groups. The Little Learners early intervention programme, for instance, involves stepping in during crucial early years to instil essential skills such as play, social skills, selfmanagement, and learning skills. Programmes go on to include full-day support for children within mainstream school settings and those based in the institute’s comprehensive SEN centre. These sessions adapt to children’s needs, teaching classroom readiness and providing supplemental education in a welltailored, safe, and patient manner. The institute seeks out compassionate members to join the team and those who show a commitment to changing lives. While the institute nurtures young learners, it considers families part of the treatment team, and the approach emphasises equipping parents, guardians, and siblings with the tools to understand their loved one and adapt to suit their needs, creating a support network to last throughout the child’s entire young life. “We believe in working with children to understand their differences, teaching them how to utilise tools to make accommodations for themselves, and self-advocacy. We are successful when they no longer need us.”- Dr. Amber Perymon Evans, Psy.D. The team currently offers support in several schools and looks forward to beginning work in additional schools in Hong Kong, enjoying the recognition its services have garnered. Having also held the inaugural Autism Summit in April 2024, the institute continues to make waves in families, employers, educational and medical communities, and beyond. It illustrated the state of Hong Kong’s infrastructure for the support and inclusion of individuals with learning differences and challenged audiences to question stereotypes. Highlighting the summit’s success, one educator said, “it changed my understanding of individuals with autism.” The organisation is proud to announce another on April 26th 2025, setting its sights on even greater citywide change and awareness. Comprehensive autism education in Hong Kong and support for young learners with special educational needs has never been so effective, holistic, and readily available. Beginning the admissions process is as straightforward as scheduling a meeting and discussing background information, followed by a tour and a trial class allowing each child to explore classes and programmes. Understanding how best to nurture a child with unique needs is no easy feat. Those needs vary drastically between individuals, both in type and how severely they affect a young person’s life. Thanks to The Children’s Institute of Hong Kong, these children are in safe, knowledgeable hands. Its tailor-made services support them to grow into their environments as confident, capable young people equipped to make the best of their education and live rich, full lives thereafter. May22239 APAC Insider- Hong Kong Business Awards 2024 | 10 Some innovators begin their careers in garages, but AI mogul Lex Poon began his journey in his dining room. Following his successful transformation of LSW Accounting Firm, Lex successfully pioneered the world’s first AI platform in accounting and finance, AI ChopsticksPig. Here, we speak with Lex as we take a closer look at his journey to success. Lex Poon has a solid background in technology, having gained experience with many major names in the sector. He received an MS and MBA in the US and a BS in China, before starting his business with Beijing Biaoqi, who unfortunately encountered a market crunch in 2008. As one of the stakeholders, Lex took over the responsibilities of research and development, design, execution, and implementation in Hong Kong. Then, Lex had little funds or resources and was forced to realise his dreams from his dining room. He learnt from both the setbacks and successes of his experiences and began to transform concepts into theories, creating a practical business model that was polished and refined over the course of six years. In 2014, he encountered LSW Accounting Firm, on the brink of bankruptcy. After being introduced to the firm, Lex swiftly used his practical business market model to transform its business operations. “Remarkably, the firm’s condition did a complete 180° change within a week,” he recalls, “and has since sustained its development, achieving significant milestones.” Going further than merely generating profit for the company, Lex developed AI ChopsticksPig, the world’s first AI platform in accounting and finance. After ten years of developing with the market, the platform has reached a breakthrough, being recognised, and keenly accepted for its revolutionary ideas and approaches. The AI ChopsticksPig platform is a digital accounting system that seamlessly interfaces with accounting software around the world. The platform provides an advanced audit tracking function to prevent errors and ensure accurate financial records; generates high quality reports quickly and efficiently; and collaborates with certified CPA firms in various countries across the globe. With this newfound technology, AI ChopsticksPig is constantly accepting many difficult cases and solving those that are turned away by other firms because they are deemed ‘unsolvable.’ “The digital economy represents a major trend in global development, with AI serving as a key enabler,” Lex tells us. “Our platform can empower various sectors, heralding a new era for all industries as a whole. We are committed to making significant contributions to China and the world, striving to achieve the highest standards of human civilisation through integration, sustainability, greenness, and digitalisation.” AI ChopsticksPig has successfully launched five strategic business plans since its establishment, including AI Accounting Outsourcing, AI Audit, Digital Finance, Carbon Finance, and Digital Economy models. Lex explains that he envisions a future where AI technology is safeguarded by a strategic investor with a robust financial backing that will provide a helping hand in his company’s growth within Chinese and global markets, enhancing economic growth and benefiting humanity. He says, “As we approach the end of 2024, we are leveraging AI as the core technology to empower and transform the service industry, enabling it to fully serve the global community.” Now, the owner of AI ChopsticksPig, White Sands Digital Finance R&D And Management Limited is advancing with a series of business plans that range from foundational initiatives to top-level designs, all based on a combination of its beliefs of traditional Chinese culture and philosophy and advanced Western scientific methodologies. Since the emergence of ChatGPT, related AI models in the sector are gradually evolving, while their production costs are rapidly declining. ChatGPT has become the basic operating system for software in various industries. However, these models cannot replace the roles and functions that AI ChopsticksPig brings to the accounting and finance sector. In a proposal for the ‘Six Pillars under Digital Economy’ project, the company explains that AI ChopsticksPig will be introducing a unique GPT to the financial field by adding the ChatGPT function, called aFinGPT. AI ChopsticksPig will develop its own aFinGPT application scenario, with its online platform therefore creating a new epoch for the company’s projects. Of course, with an industry expert such as Lex Poon at its helm, the future promises to be prosperous for AI ChopsticksPig and one subsidiary of White Sands - LSW Accounting Firm. An industry pioneer, Lex has gone from strength to strength, displaying his true prowess for trailblazing. We look forward to the future innovative developments of AI ChopsticksPig, as it has been deservedly recognised as the Most Innovative Accounting and Finance Platform 2024. Though, by itself, the company demonstrates how to capably navigate the financial front, in 2022 it opted to elevate itself beyond its prior excellence. Taking the form of Synpulse8, this development would invite experts to engage with a dedicated financial services technology division that promises to live up to the Synpulse standard. Below, APAC Insider explores how Synpulse8 further cemented Synpulse’s position as the most exemplary entity of its nature. Following Synpulse’s emergence onto Hong Kong’s financial market in 2015, the collective came to understand the pressures accumulating within companies across the region. In response, Synpulse cultivated solutions that aimed to assist in each necessary vein – ones that, over the years, have enhanced the success of some of the top global and regional financial institutions. However, in 2022, Synpulse identified a demand for advanced digital solutions across the financial services industry, and it responded with the creation of Synpulse8. In tandem with its affinity for creating tailor-made solutions via its Bespoke Engineering process, Synpulse8 blends practicality and prowess to encourage a drastic improvement in its clients’ technological knowhow. Synpulse8 exists as a conduit for furthering its clients’ financial institutions through the application of transformative technology solutions and strategic guidance. By utilising a myriad of alternative solutions for elevating their respective businesses, these clients can confidently navigate the rapidly changing landscape of the market, without losing pace or taking any unfortunate missteps. With the increasing importance of digital integration, the need for technologically capable collectives calls for steadfast solutions – solutions that Synpulse8 is pleased to provide whenever necessary. Though Synpulse8 has successfully introduced workable technology solutions and advisory services to Hong Kong’s financial trade, it believes that this is only the beginning of its journey. Embodied by the launch of its PULSE8 blueprint, Synpulse8 presents an access point to banks and insurance companies who may be struggling to make their monolithic legacy systems work. In essence, PULSE8 introduces an ‘orchestration layer’ to the market – an element that allows it to connect with legacy and modern systems alike. In doing so, it capably streamlines data into a single, harmonised layer, eliminating the need for clients to seek out costly, unfitting transformations. Seamless and agile, PULSE8 is Synpulse8’s latest venture into third-party integration – a solution that serves as the foundational architecture for the collective’s wider array of products. Though currently in its first phase of development, the platform embodies the boundless potential of technology – potential that Synpulse8 is prepared to hone to meet the ever-increasing demands of all manner of entities across the globe. These certainly are exciting times for Synpulse, and APAC Insider is eager to witness the continued development of PULSE8 as it takes its first steps toward enhancing the digital prowess of various banking and insurance entities across the region.
