Accommodation is arranged for all our international students. This is normally with a family and 2 – 3 students stay together and each student has a room to himself or herself which is furnished. All international students are required to have insurance for the intended duration of stay in NZ and we also recommend the Southern Cross International Student Insurance. Multi engine aircraft training In the same way that you need different classes of licence to operate cars, heavy trucks, and motorcycles, special ‘type ratings’ are required to operate different ‘types’ of aircraft – including multi-engine aircraft. Practical - Manoeuvres and procedures specific to multi- engine aircraft. Theory - Technical knowledge of multi-engine aircraft systems. Flight time - 5 to 10 hours. Outcomes - Multi-Engine Rating and can fly multi-engine aircraft. Eligibility - Minimum qualification: Private Pilot License. Flight instructor category C Eagle Flight Training works closely with CAA testing officers to ensure our flight training centre produces high quality flight instructors. Your career as a flight instructor begins with gaining your C-Category (‘C-Cat’) Rating. Training to become a flight instructor is the best way to build hours and gain pilot experience. When you finish this training program, you will be immediately employable as a flight instructor by any one of New Zealand’s flight training academies. For many, this career path helps them to bridge the gap between achieving their commercial pilot licence and becoming an airline pilot. This course is designed to develop in each candidate a desire to train and impart upcoming pilots’ instruction, using training methods that fully integrate safety awareness, critical thinking, sound judgment, and threat and error management. The practical aspects of flight instructor category C may include: • Multi-engine experience; • Night flight experience; • Aerobatic experience; • Practice and theory of flight instruction; • Principles of flight and performance; • Meteorology; • Cross-country navigation techniques; • Dual flight instructor training and; • Emergency flight manoeuvres. Theory Emphasis on: • Meteorology; • Flight navigation; • Air law; • Principals of flight; • Briefing techniques and; • Instructional techniques. Flight time - 100 hours – including 25 hours of dual flight instructional techniques and 1 hour spin recovery lessons. Outcomes - Instructor C-Category Rating. Eligibility - Minimum qualification: CPL. NZ Diploma in Aviation The Diploma in Aviation Programme is designed to create airline-ready pilots. We will train students up to the level at which the airlines will recruit them. This programme allows students to adopt airline culture and operational procedures. Our mission is to get work done on time and we have the capacity to support this. Diploma in Aviation training will cover everything from the ab-initio level to commercial pilot license with multi engine aircraft instrument rating, advanced theory air transport pilot licence (ATPL) and multi crew coordination (MCC) training on a modern flight simulator. This programme is structured to cater for international and domestic students, including flexible starting dates. You can enrol in our courses with or without previous flight training. Any training you may have completed prior to joining us can be credited if appropriately validated. The objective of this programme is to prepare a pilot for advanced practical training at the airline’s training centre where future first officers/second officers will undergo various assessments and complete simulator training for turboprop aircraft or heavy jets. The intensive study period is spread over 60 weeks and the training is conducted at a controlled airport exposing cadets to a professional environment. Graduates will gain: • Commercial pilot licence (CPL); • Multi engine rating; • Instrument rating (CPL/IFR); • Air transport pilot licence theoretical knowledge (Frozen ATPL); • Multi crew cooperation (MCC) certificate and; • New Zealand Diploma in Aviation Eligibility requirements: • 18 years of age or over; • Successfully complete the ADAPT trainee pilot pre- screening test; • Completed high school or hold one of following qualification PPL, CPL or CPL/IFR; • Hold a class 1 aviation medical certificate and; • Have an IELTS score of 5.5 or higher (for international students) or 6.0 for students who wish to gain the NZ Diploma.
