4 APAC / Issue Q3 2019 NEWS , Via and Busways Launch Microtransit Service Connecting The Ponds and Schofields Residents to Public Transit

APAC / Issue Q32019 5 NEWS , Cooee Busways is now Via’s fourth microtransit deployment in New South Wales, Australia, joining services in Newcastle, Northern Beaches and Macquarie Park. “Via’s technology is redefining mobility across the globe, and we are thrilled to partner with Busways and TfNSW to provide residents with a convenient, affordable, and congestion-reducing transportation alternative,” said Daniel Ramot, co-founder and CEO of Via. “Via’s powerful passenger matching and vehicle routing algorithm is the solution to solving the first-and-last mile challenge, seamlessly integrating into the existing public transit infrastructure to connect residents to transit hubs in their communities.” Using the Cooee Busways app, riders will be able to hail a shuttle directly from their smartphone. Via’s advanced algorithms will enable multiple riders to seamlessly share the vehicle. The powerful technology will direct passengers to a nearby virtual bus stop within a short walking distance for pick up and drop off, allowing for quick and efficient shared trips without lengthy detours, or inconvenient fixed routes and schedules. Cooee Busways operates Monday to Friday from 5 a.m. until 9 p.m., connecting commuters with Schofields Train Station and the new Sydney Metro stations at Tallawong and Rouse Hill. With the opening of Sydney Metro Northwest, Via’s timely deployment provides an affordable, convenient, and reliable transportation option for those commuting through these new major transit hubs. NEM Ventures, the venture capital and investments arm of the NEM blockchain ecosystem, has announced a seed round investment in ridesharing app, Mobi, which facilitates safe and affordable carpooling to help alleviate pollution. First hitting the Australian market in Melbourne, Mobi leverages the NEM blockchain to change the face of commuting. David Mansell, Director and Co-founder of NEM Ventures, said: “By incorporating NEM Catapult, Mobi is able to utilize the protocol’s many features to provide an enhanced app experience for commuters. We are always looking for ways to utilize blockchain to promote social change, which is what drew us to this project in the first place. Mobi aims to further the sustainability agenda with a focus on creating long-term shareholder value while driving home the fact that profitability is not a trade-off for sustainability.” On the app, commuters pre-arrange rides up to a week in advance, by selecting which dates and times they will be requiring or providing services. Commuters will also have control over who they choose to ride with, both parties can connect in advance via the app’s chat function and funds are held in escrow - reducing counterparty risk. Mobi will also be building an incentive-driven partner network to enable businesses to connect employees for their commuting needs. Daniel Logan, Co-founder of Mobi, commented: “In Melbourne, the In the Fast Lane: NEM Ventures Drives Forward Ridesharing Initiative Mobi “Integrated public transport options will alleviate commuter’s frustration with congestion on western Sydney roads when they’re just trying to get to work and back home each day,” Busways Managing Director, Byron Rowe, said. “The Ponds and Schofields are growing areas and the Cooee Busways on-demand service provides a crucial first and last mile link to the train and metro.” Commuters can use the service by downloading the Cooee Busways smartphone app powered by Via, available on iOS and Android. Users can book rides between Schofields Train Station, Tallawong Metro station, or Rouse Hill Metro station, and anywhere within the service zone highlighted within the app. Via is a leading provider and developer of on-demand public mobility solutions, working with cities and transportation agencies around the world to connect more people to transit. Cooee Busways is among numerous other deployments powered by Via around the globe that make it easier for commuters who do not own a car, prefer not to drive and park, or live within a long distance of a transit hub. Via has been tapped by cities and transportation players around the world to help re-engineer public transit from a regulated system of rigid routes and schedules to a fully dynamic, on-demand network. Via now has more than 70 launched and pending deployments in more than 15 countries. To learn more about Via, visit www.platform.ridewithvia.com. Mobi bridges this gap by creating a convenient and affordable way to make commuting a more positive experience for all. The app creates a sustainable solution, which can help limit carbon emissions, travel congestion, and free up much needed parking spaces across densely populated cities. NEM allows this to happen more transparently, efficiently and cost effectively and we are happy to partner with the community strategically.” Mobi have a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) tested with a live pilot of approximately 200 users and they have confirmed partnerships with three major universities across Australia giving access to circa 40,000 potential users to begin scaling. The app integrates peer-to-peer payments facilitated and will use NEM Catapult’s aggregate transactions as an escrow service, expected to be available shortly after NEM’s public chain Catapult release. Other uses of the NEM blockchain solution are expected to be used record multi party payments, loyalty points and storage of data on carbon emissions and sustainability measures. “NEM is built around a powerful system which provides us with direct API access to a specialized set of tested and secure on-blockchain features, and we are aligned in our mission to bring sustainable ridesharing to the masses,” Logan continued.

6 APAC / Issue Q3 2019 , The Rise of Technology in Health, Aged, Social Services and Community Care The new Australian Aged and Community Care Quality Standards highlight the need to engage and involve people in their care and life choices. The era of health professionals dictating all aspects of care and deciding on care goals is well and truly over. Technology can aid the instant reflection of changing needs and wants in a person’s care and support plan. And what better way to engage and involve people in their healthcare than through Apps designed to gather preferences, choices and clinical information that interfaces dynamically with a full clinical and social software system. Apps installed on devices, tablets, wearable technology in health and social support care is now available by quality software providers. Healthcare is ever changing through research findings but also through the maturation of individuals as they become more educated and expectant of engaging in their own health and social care support options and care goals (P5Mycareplan). Hence software systems have to be not just configurable, but editable (Platinum 5). Only then can they represent content that addresses Quality Standard changes and remain relevant. Apps need to be dynamic, they are unsupportive if they are static. Clients need to be able to change any software with their changing systems and processes. Leecare’s 21-year experienced enterprise, web browser-based Platinum 5 suite not only links specifically designed Apps to their full system but enables those Apps to be auto-modified through the software so every organisation can become their own, at no extra cost, development company. Why enable a client to modify their system easily and have those display in their ‘at point of care or choice’ Apps? Surely the edict of a software company is to optimise development opportunities and increase income? A health and social services’ software company such as Leecare wants to remain viable however, also wants their client base to present to their own client base, a representative, supportive and responsive system. Representative of their client’s needs’, by using the forms/schema and reports’ builders to ensure assessment content reflects their requirements and can be changed when those change. Supportive of the care, nursing, social, allied health and medical teams’ need, through easy to use Apps that can be used at the point of care (P5Mobile and P5Notes), which auto-reflect the organisation led assessment content changes. But some software needs to remain specialist in their design Dec18215 Words by Dr Caroline Lee, Chief Executive Officer of Leecare Solutions. and content, whilst others that gather information from humans need to be modifiable to reflect a changing work and healthcare environment. Radiology software that enables cross-section analysis of organs and blood flow needs to be specifically designed for that purpose. But software that captures Pathology results needs to be dynamic to enable an organisation to update and include new results as research identifies additional parameters to assess and report. And technology can engender a sense of community, for example Apps with streetscapes of favourite places that people watch as they exercise, with other people in their residential care or supportive service. These Apps work if persons can select what they wish to view. Technology that represents a

APAC / Issue Q32019 7 The Rise of Technology in Health, Aged, Social Services and Community Care person’s life timeline, through the display of images and information that traverses the person’s life, from the net or other specialist services, supports reminiscence and emotional calm. Again, these need to be Apps that can interrogate the net and locate resources a person can select from. Beacon technology that pushes critical client or resident information to a device (P5Insight) as staff walk past a Beacon on a door or house, linked to a person’s profile, further supports staff ‘on the floor/ground /approaching the person’s home’. Technology that can alert health and care professionals re key information, that enables monitoring without action, can address one of the fundamental issues in healthcare and that is lack of time and money. The rise of technology is only commensurate with affordable devices. Health, aged, social and community care services are understandably economically aware sectors with limited budgets. A software company’s responsibility in this sector is to provide affordable, device and platform independent choices so that any affordable device can be used. Time is precious hence software also needs to be intuitive, to save training time and costs, so that resources can be applied instead to change management processes to encourage technology use. Apps linked to enterprise systems enable the merger of two other critical health and social care needs – time saving data input, with extensive analysis, to determine quality service provision direction, that involves the resident, client or person. Affordable health and social care Apps P5Mobile, P5Insight, P5Notes and P5Mycareplan are all linked to the Platinum 5 enterprise system. They all ensure clinical, care, social, medication, operations, finance and medical information is congruent, relevant and engages the most important people involved in care – staff and the persons they support. 8 APAC / Issue Q3 2019 , 73% of CEOs Believe Marketers Lack Business Credibility. 75% of Marketing Campaigns Underperform. What’s the Problem with Marketing? APAC Insider: “Jerome, why do CEOs think Marketers Lack Business Credibility?” Fontaine: Over the last 11 years we’ve been running a Global Marketing Effectiveness Tracking program (across the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific) to (A) better understand Marketers around the world (what they think their job is, how effective they are, what type of results they deliver) and (B) better understand what CEOs expect of these Marketers. We tracked and identified that: - 80% of CEOs expect Marketers to generate incremental customer demand for their organisations’ products/services. That’s true in both Large Enterprises and SMEs. - 73% of CEOs think Marketers lack business credibility and are not the business growth generators they should be. Why? Because they are still too far from being able to unquestionably demonstrate how the Marketing strategies, programs, activities and campaigns they deploy grow their organisations’ top line in terms of generating more customer demand, more sales, more prospects, more conversions or more market share. The key word is “unquestionably”. The top issues CEOs in Asia Pacific and around the world have with their Marketers are: 1. They keep on talking about brand, brand values, brand equity and other similar parameters that their top management has great difficulties linking back to results that really matter: revenue, sales, EBIT or even market valuation (77%) 2. They focus too much on the latest marketing trends such as digital and social media, because they believe they represent the new marketing frontiers – but can rarely unquestionably demonstrate how these trends help them generate more business for the company (74%) 3. When asked to increase their Marketing ROI, they tend to understand it as cost cutting through better economies of scale or negotiations with their thirdparty partners and agencies, instead of top-line growth Mar19317 The FournaiseMarketing Group (“Fournaise”) is one of the world’s leadingMarketing Effectiveness Tracking & Boosting (METB) companies. Using its proprietaryMETB technology andmodels Fournaise has over the last 15 years tracked and boosted the effectiveness of more than 2.5 millionmarketing strategies, products, programs, campaigns & ads, across 20 countries, 13 industries (B2C & B2B) and 18 languages, for Fortune 500 companies, SMEs and top advertising agencies. In April 2019 Fournaise was awarded “Most OutstandingMarketing Effectiveness Specialists, 2019 – Asia Pacific” by APAC Insider. We sat downwith Jerome Fontaine, Fournaise’s Global CEO&Marketing Performance Chief, to get his views onwhat Marketers should do to push theirMarketing spending to be more effective and deliver better business results. generation: more revenue, more sales, more prospects, more buyers (73%) 4. They bombard their stakeholders with marketing data that hardly relate to or mean anything for the company’s P&L (70%) 5. Unlike CFOs and Sales forces, they don’t think enough like business people: they focus too much on the creative, “arty” and “fluffy” side of marketing and not enough on its business science, and rely too much on their creative and media agencies to come up with the next big idea (67%) The worrying part: while on one hand 73% of CEOs think Marketers lack business credibility

APAC / Issue Q32019 9 What’s the Problem with Marketing? and are not effectiveness-focused enough to generate incremental customer demand, on the other hand 69% of the Marketers we analysed feel their strategies and campaigns do make an impact on the company’s business, even though they can’t precisely quantify or prove it – confirming the great CEO-Marketer disconnect. Until Marketers start speaking the P&L language of their CEOs and stakeholders, and until they start tracking the business effectiveness of all their Marketing strategies, programs, activities and campaigns to prove they generate incremental customer demand, they will continue to lack credibility in the eyes of their CEOs and will continue to be seen more as a cost centre than an asset. APAC Insider: “You said 75% of Marketing strategies & campaigns under-perform: Why? What could Marketers do to make them more effective and generate better business results?” Fontaine: We track every year that on average 75% of marketing campaigns deployed in traditional, digital, social and direct media still underperform and achieve low business ROI. It is interesting to note that this number is rather similar across the world (Americas, Europe, Asia Pacific). At Fournaise we are 100% focused on helping Marketers generate better business results, through incremental customer demand generation. For this we apply a proprietary 360-degree Marketing Effectiveness Tracking & Boosting (METB) model: We Track. We Analyse. We Feed. We Advise. This means we track and measure what works, what does not, where, on which audience and, very importantly, we understand why. From there we advise Senior Management and Marketers on the strategic and tactical corrective actions they should take to push their marketing to deliver better results, effectiveness and ROI. So why do 75% of Marketing strategies and campaign underperform? We identified many reasons, but here are the two most critical ones: Reason #1 = Weak, Ineffective, Under-performing Customer Value Propositions (CVPs) At Fournaise we have a saying: “in the tyre industry they say power is nothing without control; in the marketing industry, form is nothing without the right content”. If the product, service or message (i.e. the content) you are pushing or advertising is not engaging with and not effective on your target audience, then whatever creativity, media strategy, instore activity or direct, social and digital marketing activity you deploy, will fail to deliver the level of interest, desire and subsequently action you are looking for from your target audience. To fix this issue we advise our clients to run our proprietary Product, CVP & Message Effectiveness Optimisation (PMEO) model, via our unique scorecard-based solution called Fournaise CVPOptimiser™ – it will track, measure and identify the most effective CVPs on their target audience, build a Winning CVP Architecture® and from there the related Optimised Product Story® that will (scientifically) give our clients’ products, services or messages the best chance to engage with and be effective on their target audience. Reason #2 = Lack of (or Incorrect) Pains, Needs, Wants & Expectations Understanding You can’t develop and deploy effective CVPs if you have not first and foremost identified the correct pains, needs, wants and expectations of your target audience, in the right order (or hierarchy). At Fournaise we identified that Marketers have access to (and spend a lot of money on) all sorts of research data, work with all sorts of insights and research providers, have hundreds (if not thousands) of PowerPoint slides full of tables, charts and statistics, and are at the forefront of the latest research techniques: focus groups, online surveys, machine testing, eye tracking, neuroscience and biometrics to name a few. Yet we measured that 80% of Marketers are drowning in their gigantic pool of data and insights, so much so that: a) They end up over-analysing their target audience, creating all sorts of segments and subsegments, with all sorts of (often complex) profiling, demographics and psychographics analyses; b) From there they end up losing sight of the big picture and of the most important pains, needs, wants and expectations of their target audience – the ones that truly matter and that should truly be addressed; c) And they end up being unable to rank these pains, needs, wants and expectations in the right order, to thereafter be able to tackle them one by one in their Marketing strategies and campaigns, in the right order. To fix this issue we advise our clients to go back to basics and run our proprietary Pains, Needs, Wants & Expectations (PNWE) Tracking model, via our unique scorecard-based solution called Fournaise PainsTracker™ – to scientifically track, measure and identify the pains, needs, wants & expectations of their target audience, in the right order (hierarchy), and get a crystal clear picture of the ones they should primarily focus on (and why), for which audience segments, for maximised effectiveness and results. At the end of the day the job of Marketing is to deliver incremental customer demand for the organisations’ products/services. Modern Marketing is more a science than an art – a science dedicated to effectiveness, ROI and business results. The sooner Marketers understand this, the sooner they will start winning the trust of their CEOs, and the sooner they will be seen as demand and growth generators. About Fournaise Global Leaders in Marketing Effectiveness Tracking & Boosting (METB). 16 APAC / Issue Q3 2019 , Manufacturing Industry Gears Up to Outpace Average Adoption of Hybrid Cloud by 2020 Nutanix, Inc. (NASDAQ: NTNX), a leader in enterprise cloud computing, today announced the findings of its Enterprise Cloud Index results for the manufacturing sector, measuring manufacturing companies’ plans for adopting private, public and hybrid clouds. The report revealed that the manufacturing industry’s hybrid cloud usage and plans outpace the global average across industries. The deployment of hybrid clouds in manufacturing and production companies has currently reached 19% penetration, slightly ahead of the global average. Moreover, manufacturers plan to more than double their hybrid cloud deployments to 45% penetration in two years; outpacing the global average by four percent. The manufacturing industry is at an “innovation impasse,” meaning manufacturers have a desire to innovate and drive transformation, but legacy IT systems have the potential to constrain their ability to do so. The opportunity for manufacturers to embrace digitization efforts including “Industry 4.0” initiatives can break the impasse, but executives must focus on new opportunities to create value and not only prioritize traditional business operations. Manufacturing organizations face the constant challenge of tradeoffs: they are under pressure to meet current productivity and operational goals in an increasingly global and highly competitive marketplace, but they also need to invest in future growth. This challenge has created a demand for new technology solutions that can help balance the trade-off between current and future goals. IT leaders in manufacturing must avoid the beaten path of finding short-term fixes for increasing revenue; instead, they should look to long-term solutions that enable automation, enhanced use of data and improvements in customer experience. The Enterprise Cloud Index findings indicate that manufacturing leaders are aggressively adopting new technology to embrace modernization instead of getting left behind with legacy systems. The distributed cloud model offers a solution that delivers speed, flexibility, and localization, allowing manufacturers to improve efficiency without compromising quality. While 91% of survey respondents reported hybrid cloud as the ideal IT model, today’s global average hybrid cloud penetration level is at 18.5% — the disparity due in part to challenges of transitioning to the hybrid cloud model. Manufacturing industries reported barriers to adopting hybrid cloud that mirrored global roadblocks, including limitations in application mobility, data security/compliance, performance, management and a shortage of IT talent. Compared to other industries, manufacturers reported greater IT talent deficits in AI/ML, hybrid cloud, blockchain, and edge computing/IoT. Other key findings of the report include: • 43% of manufacturers surveyed are currently using a traditional data center as their primary IT infrastructure, slightly outpacing the global average of 41% • However, manufacturers currently use a single public cloud service more often than any other industry. 20% of manufacturing companies reported using a single cloud service, compared to the global average of 12% — a testament to the fact that Manufacturers will more than double multicloud use in the next two years. manufacturers are starting to turn to the cloud as a solution, given that they deal with legacy IT systems and cannot handle workloads on-prem. • Manufacturers are also advancing the movement to private cloud: 56% of manufacturers surveyed said that they run enterprise applications in a private cloud, outpacing the global average by 7%. • Manufacturers are struggling to control cloud spend. One motivation for deploying hybrid clouds is enterprises’ need to gain control over their IT spend. Organizations that use public cloud spend 26% of their annual IT budget on public cloud, with this percentage predicted to increase to 35% in two years’ time. Most notable, however, is that more than a third (36%) of organizations using public clouds said their spending has exceeded their budgets. • Manufacturers chose security and compliance slightly more often than companies in other industries as the top factor in deciding where to run workloads: while 31% of respondents across all

APAC / Issue Q32019 17 Manufacturing Industry Gears Up to Outpace Average Adoption of Hybrid Cloud by 2020 industries and geographies named security and compliance as the number one decision criterion, 34% of manufacturing organizations chose security and compliance as the top factor . The bullish outlook for hybrid cloud adoption globally and across industries is reflective of an IT landscape growing increasingly automated and flexible enough that enterprises have the choice to buy, build, or rent their IT infrastructure resources based on fast transforming application requirements. “Manufacturers are investing in modernizing their IT stack, and adopting industry 4.0 solutions to keep up with everchanging business demands in areas like production and supply chain management,” said Chris Kozup, SVP of Global Marketing at Nutanix. “A hybrid cloud infrastructure gives manufacturers a fresh approach to modernizing legacy applications and services, enabling manufacturing IT leaders to focus on their long-term investments in big data, IoT, and next-generation enterprise applications. While the manufacturing industry is still facing obstacles in transitioning to multi-cloud use, this study shows us that manufacturing organizations are ready to accelerate growth and take the lead in IT innovation in the future.” To create this report, Nutanix commissioned Vanson Bourne to survey more than 2,300 IT decision makers, including 337 worldwide manufacturing and production organizations, about where they are running their business applications today, where they plan to run them in the future, what their cloud challenges are and how their cloud initiatives stack up against other IT projects and priorities. The survey included respondents from multiple industries, business sizes and geographies in the Americas; Europe, the Middle East, Africa (EMEA); and AsiaPacific and Japan (APJ) regions.
