We speak with Collinson International’s Global Chief Commercial Officer and Asia Pacific President, Todd Handcock as he receives his award from the APAC CEO of the Year Awards 2024. A key region for Collinson International is Asia Pacific, which has experienced an incredible transformation over the last few decades. This year, while analysts have projected growth to sit at a modest 4.5%, the region is still expected to be the fastest growing of the world economy in 2024. Recognising the importance of Asia Pacific to their clients and travellers alike, Collinson International has made sure it has a special leader at the helm. Todd Handcock is Collinson International’s Global Chief Commercial Officer and Asia Pacific President. He is responsible for steering strategic and commercial development in Asia Pacific and leading its major accounts and commercial best practices globally. Todd’s expertise has been instrumental in driving the business’s robust strategy in Asia Pacific, which is underpinned by his highly-engaged and supportive leadership style that has resulted in numerous achievements during his almost six years with the company. As the travel market in mainland China is forecasted to recover at pace this year, Todd led a joint venture with Joyful Journey Group, a leading air and rail digital travel experiences provider in mainland China, to form ‘Joyful Journey Priority Pass’. The strategic alliance brings multiple value-added benefits to both Collinson International’s clients and their customers, including market-specific agile technology; an expanded inventory of airport lounges; and an enhanced traveller experience. Additionally, Collinson International’s Priority Pass recently announced its partnership with the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China in the region, which sees Priority Pass become the Official Airport Lounge Partner for the Hong Kong, China Delegation to the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The partnership follows a history of the company going above and beyond its commercial objectives, with Collinson International announcing its role as a founding member of youth education and employment programme Coach Core back in 2016, and more recently partnering with the Women’s NBA team in the Americas and the Professional Tennis Players Association globally to support athlete wellness. “A core value at Collinson International is ‘Do the Right Thing’, and so the team and I are incredibly proud to be supporting the Hong Kong, China Delegation’s journey to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games,” said Todd. “For us, the partnership is more than just offering airport lounge access; it’s about enabling a more restful and enjoyable journey so the athletes can perform at their best at the Games – which for some of the squad, is a once in a lifetime opportunity. A former Chair and Head of the Governor’s Council, Todd is a current Governor for the Canadian Chamber in Hong Kong, China and was recently elected to the Board of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Singapore.
