Hands together holding a plant

Taiwan joins forces with the international community to create a sustainable future

In an effort to build a sustainable and prosperous future in partnership with the global community, Taiwan has launched the Go Green with Taiwan campaign. The initiative invites applicants to showcase projects that will achieve environmental or economic sustainability through the use of products or solutions from Taiwanese businesses. This will help promote Taiwan’s green industries, while fostering international cooperation for global sustainable development.

The top three proposals will each be awarded a cash prize of $20,000 (USD).

The scheme is organised by Taiwan’s International Trade Administration (TITA) under the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) and executed by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA). Major Taiwanese business figures such as Stan Shih (Founder & Honorary Chairman at Acer Group), have been invited to take ambassadorial roles in the programme. In addition, sustainable energy companies, industry associations and foreign diplomats based in Taiwan are supporting the initiative.

Taiwan’s green industry possesses advanced technology, infrastructure and related services, a robust R&D environment, and highly skilled technological talent. Taiwan produces stable, high-value-added green materials and related products, making Taiwanese organisations indispensable partners for international green energy and sustainable economic development.

The Go Green with Taiwan campaign was launched at a recent press conference taking place at the AMBI Space One, an immersive exhibition facility in Taipei 101, renowned as the world’s tallest green building and an iconic landmark of Taiwan.

The event was characterised by innovative environmental initiatives, including a paperless electronic check-in wall, the use of eco-friendly tableware, and the serving of fair trade beverages. The event demonstrated Taiwan’s advancements in circular economy solutions, low-carbon transportation, green energy and storage, and environmental equipment such as state-of-the-art naked-eye 3D panoramic animations.

Proposal submissions are open from now until 31st August 2024. The scheme is open to applicants worldwide, including representatives of companies, research institutions, universities, non-governmental organisations, public associations and more.
